Xbox 360

Q: Xbox Backup Creator, using the Kreon SH-D162C drive, shows the wrong media information, and won't correctly create an image in Windows Vista.
A: Disable UAC, restart Windows.

Q: The xbox360 backups don't run on the console
A: If you have an LG burner, this is probably the problem, get a new DVD+R DL compatible writer that is not LG.
Another possibility is to ensure that the layer break is set to 1913760 - can be set in ImgBurn under settings.
Ensure that DVD+R DL discs are being used, not -R
If there is a problem reading the image, try reading at a slower speed, if problem occurs when writing, try writing at the lowest speed.

Q: What media should be used to write the xbox360 backups?
A: Any DVD+R DL should work, but Verbatim, Imation, and TDK all seem to work well.

Q: I only have a laptop, can i still use the SH-D162C drive to backup games?
A: Yes, you will need to purchase an external enclosure to put it in, this will then plug into your computer using USB or Firewire. All reports of using an external enclosure have been positive.

Q: Can I play games from overseas and other regions on my 360 once it has been modded?
A: You cannot play any NTSC games on your PAL console. You can play PAL games from other regions that are not region locked. For a list see this page: http://wiki.xboxic.com/Region-free_Xbox_360_Games

Q: Can I play on Xbox Live after my 360 is modded? A: You can play on live, but it is at your own risk, you may get banned. We recommend only playing original disks when on Xbox Live.

Q: Can i boot the xbox without the mod chip on?
A: Yes, with the mod chips we use, you may use the power button (the smaller button) to turn the xbox on with the mod chip on, or the eject button (larger button) to turn the xbox on with the mod chip disabled.

Q: Can i still use Xbox Live?
A: You may still use Xbox Live as long as you are using only the original games, and you boot the xbox with the mod chip off.
